Kids Chef - Wagashi Making Class Feb.5th 2017

Thank you to everyone who came to our Family Wagashi Making Class

at Shairly Cafe today!

6 families got together and had a memorable time making their own Neriki, traditional Japanese confectionery.

While mothers were preparing for Nerikiri dough, children had an English playtime.

After 30 minutes of playtime, children joined shaping Nerikiri. Kids divided white bean paste into 3 equal pieces and shaped each piece into a ball. All children were into this, as if they were playing clay.

How was the taste? It was absolutely awesome !!! A special thanks to Ikuyo san who taught us how to make basic Nerikiri !

Next family event will be on Sunday March 19th. We are going to have scissor-and-paper cutouts workshop inspired by French painter Henri Matisse.
