Family Fun! English cooking -Thick Sushi Rolls Jan 19.2019
Thank you to everyone who joined our English cooking event yesterday!!! We welcomed 13 families and enjoyed hands-on family cooking.
The instructor who used to work at Sushi restaurant in Sydney taught us thick sushi rolls in English.
She is also the owner of YOROKOBI kitchen and offering English cooking classes for travelers at Asakusa, gave us a short explanation on what is setsubun and eho maki before cooking.
We made two different types of thick sushi rolls, a traditional eho maki and a flower designed roll. Children were actively involved in the process of making vinegar rice and rolling with the bamboo mat.
Recipes were simple and fun! We saw a lot of happy faces when the children had their roll cut and found a flower inside!!!
All the kids kept quiet while eating and savoring them.
Special thanks to YOROKOBI Kitchen http://www.yorokobi-kitchen.tokyo
for teaching us wonderful recipes!!!
